Lisa Louwers did the design of both costumes and stage for the performance of Animal Farm by George Orwell. The story in short: the farm-animals revolt against their farmer. But they are no better off after his death. The eldest pig, which took command in the revolution, is their new dictator, propagating meaningful things like, “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”. Louwers situated the play in a school gym, a place where themes like power and hierarchy seem right at home. The pigs can boss the other animals around from a bridge high up. The costumes are a mix of casual clothes for youngsters and animal costumes.
