By choosing Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Angeneind placed himself in a long tradition. He built a theatrical space around the beautifully made scale model, to visualise his view on the design process. “Scale model made into theatre, theatre on theatre,” he writes. Each of the three groups of people who are shipwrecked on an island get their own cube. During the play these three volumes become one big volume. The scale model shows the hidden technical wiring etc. in the walls, and gives an insight in the roles of the gaffer and the designer. Because of his adult approach and solutions Angeneind was already offered a job as assistant-scenographer at the production of NORA with Toneelgroep Amsterdam.
